It all started with a trip to the Raleigh flea market in the early fall. I saw these winter church scenes and knew I wanted them to be the inspiration for my dining rom decor this Christmas/winter. I wanted to use deep blues, whites and gold.
This room is not large- it sits right off the front door, next to my foyer and is used only when my kids are here for meal.

The farmhouse table was custom built for me last year- I wanted one large enough to seat my kids and their families all together. It is HEAVY! The base is painted the same charcoal grey-blue as my kitchen cabinets and fireplace.

I wanted two Christmas trees flanking my French Provincal hutch. It was a Craigslist find several years ago and holds my collection of vintage china. I took the dated glass out and replaced it with chicken wire

I love sparse Christmas trees and the space on either end of the hutch was very limited so I choose the 4 foot flocked Balsam Fir from Balsam Hill. They fit perfectly- I put them on a box to give them a bit of height and decorated them with baubles in shades of white and gold.

I dressed the table with a fur rug in snowy white and added my cobalt blue vintage lanterns, gold mercury glass, candles and trees in varied heights. And my favorite vintage find this year is the paint by number from 1963- signed and dated on the back.

This hutch belonged to my Mamaw Pearl and she is the person partially responsible for my love of vintage glassware; she gave me the cobalt blue lanterns. The angel here was hers and sat on top of the tree every year, I treasure it.
I had lots of fun dressing my hutch in my favorite blue transferware , ironstone, cobalt glass, Dundee pottery, milk glass and antique silver. The hutch is small and fits perfectly in the little niche.

I hope you enjoyed a little tour of my dining room all decorated for Christmas. The room is not big but really packs a punch!
